Does a phone tarot reading work as well as in person?

It's the question I'm asked most before someone books: doesn't it work better if we're in the same room?

I understand the instinct. But no — a phone reading is not a lesser version of an in-person one. In some ways it's better, and I want to explain why rather than just assert it.

Why distance doesn't matter

A reading works by attention, not proximity. What I'm reading is your question and the energy you bring to it — and that travels perfectly well down a phone line. Intuition has never been limited by geography; anyone who has thought of a person moments before they called knows that already.

Practically: I shuffle while we talk, I draw when the deck feels settled, and I describe what lands. Nothing about that requires you to be across a table.

Where phone is actually better

You're somewhere you feel safe. Clients open up more from their own couch than from a stranger's studio. That matters more to the quality of a reading than sitting in the same room does.

No performance. Both of us drop the theater. There's no candlelit set, no waiting room, no reading my face while I read your cards. Just the conversation and what comes through.

No travel, no scheduling around traffic. Especially in LA, this is not a small thing. An hour is an hour, not an hour plus two drives.

What you give up

I'll be straight: you don't see the spread. Some people love watching the cards land, and that's genuinely lost on a call. I compensate by naming each card as I draw it and describing where it sits, and you're welcome to look them up while we talk — that doesn't bother me at all.

And if you'd rather not talk at all

Some people think more clearly in writing. If that's you, send your question in writing instead and I'll sit with it properly and write back. Different shape, same work.

Either way, booking a call from anywhere gets you the real thing, not a compromise.
